Paediatric First Aid

Who is this for?

The qualification is designed for learners with a responsibility for the care of children and babies on a professional level providing the knowledge and practical competence to deal with a range of paediatric first aid situations.

This 12-hour qualification meets the requirements stated in the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage.

What will be covered?

The qualification consists of two units which learners must successfully complete to achieve the FAA Award in Paediatric First Aid qualification.

Unit 1

Unit 1 focuses on emergency first aid subjects, including:

  • Roles and responsibilities
  • Minimising risk of infection
  • Primary survey
  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • Recovery position
  • Seizures
  • Choking
  • Bleeding
  • Shock
  • Bites, cuts, and minor injuries

Unit 2

Unit 2 focuses on managing illness, injuries, and emergencies, including:

  • Fractures, Sprains, and Strains
  • Applying slings
  • Head and spinal injuiries
  • Diabities
  • Asthma attacks
  • Allergic reactions
  • Meningitis
  • Febrile convulsions
  • Extreme head and cold
  • Electrical shocks
  • Burns and scalds
  • Poisioning
  • Anaphylaxis

How will Inspire First Training deliver the course?

We can provide your facilitated session on-site at your premises, or alternatively at our preferred venue. We offer flexible start times for all of our courses, including evenings, early mornings, and weekends.
